I am a doctorally prepared certified nurse-midwife with 28 years of practice in both hospital and birth center settings. My passion and area of expertise is the birth center model of care. I served as president of the American Association of Birth Centers and was lead editor of the only textbook in the U.S. devoted to the freestanding birth center model.
