My name is Larry Dunville, and I've been in the crane business since working as a welder in the shop when I was fifteen years old. I've fabricated, worked on installation crews, engineered, estimated, sold, and serviced overhead bridge cranes all my adult life.
I've sat on the AIST (American Institute of Steel Technology) committees that wrote the Overhead Crane specs for the steel industry. In addition, I write articles and speak annually at the AIST Crane Symposium and other organizations such as the API (American Petroleum Institute) Lifting Conference and CMAA (Crane Manufacture's Association of America).
I was formerly the Executive Director of the CCAA (Crane Certification Association of America) and currently sit on the ASME/ANSI B30.2 Overhead and Gantry Cranes and ASME/ANSI B30.16 Hoists.Â
On a personal level, I restore 60's vintage Porsches and work at Astrophotography.
