Michael S. D'Angelo, is the Principal &amp; Lead Consultant for Secure Direction Consulting, LLC. He  provides case review, expert testimony and consultation on security standards and best practices in cases involving premises liability, negligent security, and related civil litigation, with a special focus on healthcare security and workplace violence.

D'Angelo has been in the public safety and private security industries for nearly 30 years.  He retired as a Police Captain with the South Miami Police Department, having served 23 years In a variety of positions; including supervision and senior management. Upon transitioning to the private sector, he was hired as the corporate security leader for Baptist Health South Florida, where he served as an internal consultant for security and emergency preparedness to six hospitals and a multitude of outpatient facilities.  He now provides risk assessments, security plans, guard force planning and program management as well as workplace violence prevention programs to businesses and organizations.

D'Angelo holds an Associates degree in Criminal Justice Administration (Miami-Dade College) as well as a Bachelors degree in Social and Criminal Justice (Ashford University). Additionally, he is a graduate of the prestigious Southern Police Institute's Command Officer Development Course.

He is Board Certified in Security Management (CPP), Security Consulting (CSC), and Healthcare Security Management (CHPA).
