Description
David N. Kenigsberg, MD, FACC, FHRS is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist practicing electrophysiology in South Florida since 2007. He is a founding member of Florida Heart Rhythm Specialists, PLLC, a practice that provides high-level electrophysiology services to a large part of Broward County. Dr. Kenigsberg is the medical director of the electrophysiology laboratory at Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, Florida. His academic roles include serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiology at Nova Southeastern University and a Clinical Preceptor for the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Program at Keiser University. Dr. Kenigsberg received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami and his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in the prestigious six-year Honors Program in Medical Education. Subsequently, he performed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. Dr. Kenigsberg then went on to a cardiology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where he served as the Chief Cardiology Fellow. Finally, he completed his training with a two-year electrophysiology fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Dr. Kenigsberg is currently Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. Dr. Kenigsberg has published numerous scholarly articles in peer-reviewed medical journals on many topics germane to electrophysiology. He has been the primary investigator/co-investigator in a myriad of clinical trials involving the device and lead development and device programming. In addition, Dr. Kenigsberg has been engaged in developing intellectual property utilizing cardiac devices for the early detection of patients at risk for a heart attack. Dr. Kenigsberg is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Florida Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and the Broward County Medical Association. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Holocaust Documentation and Education Center. Dr. Kenigsberg's clinical interests involve the ablation of supraventricular and ventricular Cardiac arrhythmias and the implantation of monitors, pacemakers, and defibrillators. Dr. Kenigsberg specializes in ablating more complex arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. He is skilled at implanting cardiac resynchronization devices that require coronary sinus lead placement. He is on staff at eight hospitals in Broward County and one in Palm Beach County.
