David Wilshaw holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology awarded by the University of London in 1984 and a Master of Science (Engineering) Degree in Foundation Engineering, awarded by the University of Birmingham in 1987. He has almost 40 years of professional experience in engineering geology, geotechnics, geophysics, and geo-environmental assessments gained throughout the UK, Europe, the USA, and the Caribbean. Licensure & Certifications • State of Florida Professional Geologist since 2006. • State of Tennessee Professional Geologist since 2012. • Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Professional Geologist since 2017. • California Licensed Professional Geologist since 2022 • Fellow of the Geological Society of London since 1989; Chartered Geologist since 1992 • Certified as a State of Florida Neutral Evaluator of Disputed Sinkhole Insurance Claims since 2011 • Florida Board of Professional Engineers Licensed Continuing Education Provider since 2019 Mr. Wilshaw is currently professionally engaged in geotechnical investigation and ground-risk management in the residential / commercial construction, transportation, and mining sectors; soil & rock drilling and testing; Phase I Environmental Site Assessments; pre-suit expert opinions for defendants and plaintiffs; expert witness testimony in circuit civil litigation; State of Florida mandated Neutral Evaluation of disputed sinkhole insurance claims; forensic engineering geology. He is a great communicator and has contributed to several local and national news programs, together with documentaries for The Science Channel and Discovery Channel. He has taught as an Adjunct Professor in Earth Science at Valencia College in Orlando, FL and is a Florida Board of Professional Engineers Licensed Continuing Education Provider. Specialties: • International experience in geologic, geotechnical and geo-environmental exploration techniques, including interpretation of field and lab results, preparation of design recommendations, coordinating efforts of field, lab and office personnel and providing technical support to clients. • Recognized Expert in Geology in circuit civil litigation, testifying multiple times in deposition and over forty times at jury trial. • Neutral Evaluator of disputed sinkhole insurance claims • Completed thousands of forensic engineering geological assessments throughout Florida, also in California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Wyoming, and across the United Kingdom.
