Description
Dr. Minton graduated from Boston University School of Medicine and trained in Internal Medicine at the Beth Israel Hospital, V.A. Hospital, and Tufts-New England Medical Center, all in Boston and trained in cardiology at the University of Colorado Medical Center, Denver. He was Senior Cardiologist with Maine Cardiology Associates, Portland, ME from 1967 to 2002, practicing general, invasive, acute care and preventive cardiology and is on the Active Courtesy Staff, Division of Cardiology at the Maine Medical Center. Certified in Internal Medicine and in Cardiovascular Disease, is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and served as Governor for Maine of the American College of Cardiology from 1977 to 1980. He is a Diplomate of Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease of the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons. In 1999 Dr. Minton was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Northern New England Tri-State Chapter of the American College of Cardiology. From 2002-2012 he volunteered as Staff Cardiologist and Internist at the Senior Friendship Centers Clinic, Sarasota, FL and is currently Medical Director at the Georgia Male Performance and Health Clinic, Duluth, Georgia. Dr. Minton has been a consultant as an expert witness in cardiology to the legal profession for over 35 years with special interests in: 1) The impact of personal injury and work stress on the heart, myocardial infarction and sudden death. 2) The weaknesses of the EHR on patient care and patient outcomes.
