Multiple board certifications: Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by American Board of Anesthesiology, Addiction Medicine by American board of Preventative Medicine, Certified Independent Medical Examiner by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. 

Former owner and pharmacist in charge of successful independent pharmacy. Additional training as a pharmacist in diabetes education of patients, asthma education of patients and immunizations. All of this training was very helpful in medical school, residency and clinical practice.Left the successful pharmacy for medical school, residency in anesthesiology and fellowship in pain medicine.

Since finishing my training a majority of time in interventional pain management. I became very proficient in performing the pain relieving procedures including but not limited to cervical, thoracic and lumbar translaminar and transforaminal epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation of medial branches, lateral branches and peripheral nerves after the appropriate preliminary blocks, spinal cord stimulator trial placement and permanent placement.

The work in pain medicine required management of narcotics, a progression to additional training in addiction medicine became necessary.  Obtained special training and waiver from Dept. of Health and Human Services for Opiod addiction treatment to manage Suboxone, Subutex and buprenorphine. Obtained the ACGME recognized board certification for Addiction Medicine.

Maintained experience in anesthesiology managing certified registered nurse anesthetist, anesthesiologist assistants and managing own cases. Expertise in managing difficult airways including cases with a high potential of lost airway, appropriate use of the narcotics, muscle relaxants, local anesthetics and other medications associated with anesthesia as well as if overdose occurs, prevention of chipped teeth, damage to the soft tissues of the airway and complications from regional anesthesia.
