Description
Dr. Ilan Mizrahi is a Harvard-trained, double board-certified, anesthesiologist and critical-care intensivist who works at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Mizrahi earned his undergraduate degree in neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University. He attended medical school at Boston University School of Medicine where he graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. He completed his anesthesiology residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and critical care fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He was recruited to work as faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital to provide anesthesia for various surgeries, and critical care in the surgical ICU. Since 2019 he has been the director of Quality Improvement in the Surgical ICU, and has reviewed over a hundred patient mortalities and numerous morbidities/safety-events. His current anesthesia practice includes caring for complex patients in general surgery, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, endoscopy, and interventional radiology. He also has extensive experience providing anesthesia for ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy). He has practiced critical care in academic and community environments, for a vast range of critically ill medical and non-cardiac surgical patients. He also as experience with preoperative assessment, postoperative care in the PACU and ICU, and emergent intubation.
