Description
I am a general internist in an academic primary care practice at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, and a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. 

I practice in an outpatient setting. I care for a panel of patients that is weighted towards those with multiple chronic illnesses and high disease complexity.  In addition to all aspects of office based general internal medicine, my areas of interest include preoperative medical evaluation, hypertension, and headache. 

I teach internal medicine to medical house staff and also extensively to practicing clinicians in continuing medical education settings. I have been repeatedly selected as a Best Doctor in a national survey and have received a national award for scholarship in medical education.  I publish in the peer reviewed medical literature, UpToDate, and in medical texts. I have edited textbooks, and have helped to develop national guidelines on topics in internal medicine.  I am an assistant editor for a recurring series in the Annals of Internal Medicine.

I have reviewed cases for both plaintiffs and defendants and have testified both at trial and deposition in multiple states.
