Mr. Rafferty has successfully served as an expert witness in industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, mold exposure, and other occupational and public health issues. His opinions are based on a sound understanding of the science and facts in each case, and his written reports and oral testimony are presented in clear, concise language that is engaging and easily understood.

In his 35 years as a CIH, Mr. Rafferty has conducted hundreds of exposure assessments in a wide variety of industrial, commercial, institutional and residential facilities on three continents. As a technical director of two leading national environmental consulting firms, he provided leadership and oversight of technical excellence in the work of dozens of industrial hygienists. 

He has served as an expert in cases relating to proposed OSHA regulations, workers' compensation, and criminal sentencing; as well as litigation involving property damage, construction defects, personal injury, and insurance coverage.  He has co-authored, contributed to or edited several AIHA monographs on topics related to indoor air quality and industrial contamination.

Mr. Rafferty excels in conducting rigorous scientific analysis of the facts in each case. He forms his opinions on the facts and in some cases his own research of historical records that assist in the analysis. He prepares rigorous expert reports that are easily understood by nonscientists, supplemented by creative and effective courtroom graphics. Together with his  he assists the finders of fact in understanding relevant facts and his clearly stated opinions.
