I am a triple board-certified Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and General Pediatrics Physician with over 25 years of clinical and administrative experience.  I am a Professor in both Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine.  I also have Urgent Care and Cruise Ship (Senior Physician) experience.  A few highlights from my CV include US ARMY Flight Surgeon, Division Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Medical Director of three emergency departments, Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Creator and Director, QA Director, QI Director, Pediatric Trauma Liaison, International Educator, many publications, as well as authoring dozens of policies and procedures for emergency departments, hospitals, EMS agencies, and government entities.  

I thrive on education and love to teach as evidenced by the number of talks I have given World Wide and my engagements with both the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Emergency Medicine.  My experiences working with these boards and from clinical work in hospitals of all sizes and types have given me a unique perspective and the ability to accurately determine what should be considered the standard of care under a given set of circumstances.

Additionally,  I am experienced and have included legal writing, deposition testimony, and court testimony best practices as part of my continuing education.  I have qualified many times as an expert in  Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and in some areas of General Pediatrics.  I enjoy medical-legal work as I enjoy making complex medical situations and timelines understandable to non-medical people.  I have Tableau data analysis skills: letting graphics show what complex data means.  I enjoy working in both the criminal and civil court systems.
