Nationwide experience as hydrologist, environmental engineer, and civil engineer, including for construction, operations, design, inspections, floodplains, contamination, toxicity, hazardous waste, spills, grading, remediation, pollution, sinkholes, health and safety, pumping, modeling, odors, soils, dams, regulations, combined sewers, overflows, aquifers, water distribution, water treatment, hydraulic fracturing, Standard of Care, sedimentation, hydroplaning, wetlands, landfills, monitoring, infiltration/inflow, and metering.

Forensic cases for Mr. Dutill have comprised federal and state courts, and include damages from approximately $25,000 to approaching $1 billion, with most between $100,000 to $5M. As indicated in feedback from attorneys on expert witness cases, some of the strengths of Mr. Dutill include understandable guidance, responsiveness, timeliness, communication, effective report writing, strong testimony (including on cross), efficiency, organization, and assistance with framing case issues.

Approximately 45 to 50% of his cases have been for defendants and 50 to 55% for plaintiffs. Chuck Dutill has spent approximately 30% of his professional time providing litigation support and expert witness services nationwide for over 40 years. He has issued 180 to 185 expert reports, been deposed for plaintiffs and defendants 45 to 50 times, and testified in court (including jury and non-jury trials) for defendants and plaintiffs 40 to 45 times.

He is a member of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers (Senior Member), Water Environment Federation (Life Member), Air &amp; Waste Management Association, Environmental and Water Resources Institute, American Society of Civil Engineers, and Construction Institute.
