Dr. Nonna Sorokina is a professor at the Pennsylvania State University. She holds a PhD in Finance and Applied Statistics. Her financial industry and consulting career of 25 years is complemented by more than 10 years of academic research and teaching. During the last 6 years, Dr. Sorokina consulted legal professionals on a variety of issues. Her core professional experience includes data analytics, valuation of cash flows, and risk modeling. Specific area of her banking expertise is in residential real estate lending, including loan product development, pricing, securitization, hedging, trading, advanced quantitative analysis, model validation, and compliance with audit and regulatory requirements/findings.  Dr. Sorokina's research interests span multiple topics related to bank stability, capital structure, organizational form decisions, various aspects of bank risk management and performance as well as selected topics in investments with a special attention devoted to advanced quantitative methods. She also developed substantial experience in valuation of assets, business opportunities, calculation of losses, small business financial issues, personal investment, bankruptcy, and employment discrimination via consulting, industry, and academic activities.
