Dr. Wanat is a Cornell-educated, award-winning chemistry expert with over 30 years of experience in the chemical industry in plastics, polymers, adhesives, aerosols, materials, composites, coatings, nanotechnology, optics, light management, patent infringement, and failure analysis. He has a broad background in polymers with experience in acrylics, polyesters, polyolefins, polyurethanes, styrenics, and fluoropolymers.

He has 11 US patents and oversaw well over 20 additional granted patents. Dr. Wanat led research and development, intellectual property, and litigation initiatives around the world, serving as scientist, global director of research, director of manufacturing, and CTO for multi-billion-dollar chemical companies.

Dr. Wanat has served as an expert witness on over 13 intellectual property cases (including patent infringement, inter partes review, and post-grant review) and over 3 product failure/liability cases. He has been deposed over 4 times and has provided expert testimony at trial before the United States International Trade Commission (ITC).
