Board certified neurologist and full-time sleep medicine specialist (Board certified) who evaluates and manages the full range of sleep disorders in children, adolescents and adults; focus on excessive sleepiness and hypersomnia, narcolepsy, idiopathic hypersomnia, accident risk and sleep disorders, cognitive impairment, post-traumatic hypersomnia, and complex sleep behaviors. Active in the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) including board of directors 2010-2016, participation on numerous national committees and task forces including the AASM Standards of Practice committee, numerous publications related to diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders, and prior academic appointments at Baylor College of Medicine (1998-2006) and University of Alabama at Birmingham (1991-1998). In practice since 2006 in Memphis, TN, a large quadra-modal transportation and shipping hub (world hub and headquarters for FedEx) with thousands of pilots, air traffic controllers, commercial drivers, train engineers, barge pilots, and shift workers; extensive clinical experience in evaluation and management of these populations; more than 64 peer reviewed papers as well as chapters and presentations at national and international professional meetings.
