I have been a Nationally Certified Paramedic since 1990 and have been involved with the public safety profession since 1987.  I have worked as a clinician, an educator and a manager in both the United States and internationally. I have managed and coordinated medical and safety education programs for both private and governmental organizations. 

I have a Master of Public Administration in Emergency and Disaster Management from Metropolitan College of New York.  Additionally, I am a graduate of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Basic Emergency Management Academy, the Advance and Professional Development programs, the Continuity of Operations (COOP) Level 1, the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP), Incident Command System (ICS) instructor program. Additionally, I am a certified instructor with the State of California Fire Marshal (CSFM) 1A-1C and a Level 2 National EMS Instructor with the National Association of Emergency Medical Educators (NAEMSE). 

Currently, I am on Faculty as an Assistant Professor with UT Health San Antonio, Department of Health Sciences and the Office of the Medical Director where I assist with both initial and continuing education for San Antonio Fire Departments (SAFDs) EMT/paramedic students and credentialed clinicians as well as public EMS education programs.
