Wendy E. Goodwin, MD, is one of less than 50 physicians in the country who are board certified in Brain Injury Medicine, Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine and (adult) Physical Medicine &amp; Rehabilitation. 

She has an academic background as an assistant clinical professor at UT Southwestern / Children's Medical Center where she worked daily with children suffering from a range of long-term neurological disorders like cerebral palsy to acute neurological conditions like stroke and multi-trauma. She has worked a large portion of  her time in the ICU, caring for severely injured and comatose patients such as battered babies, drowning victims and car wreck victims. 

What is uncommon about Dr. Goodwin is the breadth of her experience. On a daily basis she has cared for patients along a range of age (from newborn into college), caring for patient's injury along a long course of time (from ICU until many years later through the child's development), and treating the full spectrum of Traumatic Brain Injury Ã¢Â€Â“ from concussion to coma.   

Dr. Goodwin's unique value to both plaintiff attorneys and defense attorneys as an expert witness is her familiarity with the impact of  an injury or disability on a child's surroundings, such as their schooling, family dynamics, hobby or sport participation and future educational /vocational prospects.  She is also an avid speaker and teacher who really enjoys breaking down complicated medical topics so that anybody can understand them.
