Dr. Abu-Zahra has 7+ years of experience as a practicing pediatric hospitalist in the Inland Empire in both community and academic hospital settings. Dr. Abu-Zahra provides consultation for chart reviews, expert witness depositions, and testimony. Dr. Abu-Zahra is double board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) in general pediatrics and pediatric hospitalist medicine and is a fellow of the American Association of Pediatrics (FAAP). Dr. Abu-Zahra graduated from Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency at University of Maryland in Baltimore. He works in an academic children's hospital and a community hospital with newborn nursery, inpatient pediatrics and ER consults. Furthermore, Dr. Abu-Zahra works full time as a hospitalist in a tertiary care academic center and half time as an outpatient pediatrician in a clinic affiliated with a family residency program. 

Dr. Abu-Zahra is the former chair of pediatrics at two of the community hospitals. He is involved in quality improvement projects, policy renewal, medical executive committee, as well as pediatric hospitalist standard of care practices and several other committees.
