Lifesaving Resources is dedicated to drowning and aquatic injury prevention and emergency management. Â The company has been in operation since 1985. Â The company develops educational curriculums for the Public Safety & Rescue Sector, as well as the Lifeguard & Aquatic Recreation Sector, and conducts this training throughout the U.S., as well as internationally. Gerry has an extensive background in Lifeguarding, Water Rescue, Surf Rescue, Swiftwater Rescue, and Ice Rescue, as well as being licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician and certified as an Interior Firefighter. Â He has been licensed as an EMT in Connecticut, New York, Texas, Virginia, New Hampshire, and is currently licensed in Maine and works with the Kennebunkport Emergency Medical Services. Â He has worked as a volunteer, professional and paid-on-call Firefighter in Connecticut, Virginia, and New Hampshire, and currently works as a paid-on-call Firefighter with the Kennebunkport Fire Department. Lifesaving Resources (www.lifesaving.com) conducts an annual International Ice Rescue Instructor Academy every February, as well as an International Water Rescue Instructor Academy every September. Â The purpose of these Academies is to train and authorize First Responders as either Ice Rescue or Water Rescue Instructors who can then return to their own departments to conduct internationally-standardized training programs developed and administered by Lifesaving Resources. Â Lifesaving Resources has trained and authorized over 400 Instructors today located throughout the U.S., Canada, and other countries. Besides its regular training programs, Gerry has conducted numerous educational webinars via Zoom since the COVID-19 pandemic, including a series of Drowning & Aquatic Injury Case Studies, as well as Principles in the Standard of Care for the Prevention, Recognition, and Management of Drowning and Aquatic Injuries. Â He has also conducted numerous online Ice Rescue Awareness and Water Rescue Awareness training programs via Zoom. Gerry has written and published over 40 articles, and several instructional guidebooks. Â He has conducted training throughout the U.S., as well as internationally, and has consulted as a Forensics Expert in over 500 cases to date. Â He has also appeared as a subject matter expert on NBC's Today Show; CBS' Early Show; ABC's Good Morning America; MSNBC; CNN; The Weather Channel; The Discovery Channel; and The History Channel. Gerry analyzes every case in terms of what was done or should have been done to prevent the incident. Â How quickly the incident, as well as its potential was recognized. Â And, how rapidly and effectively the incident was managed. Â Regardless of which side retains him, Gerry's opinions are always consistent with the principles advocated within Lifesaving Resources' training programs.
