Description
Dr. Mati studied anthropology as an undergraduate and lived and worked in several countries before entering medical school at Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College).
 
He completed his full-spectrum family medicine residency at Ventura County Medical Center where he was chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in emergency and critical care medicine while also completing a point-of-care-ultrasound fellowship.
 
He has worked as a staff physician in a diversity of settings including trauma center emergency departments, rural emergency departments, student health centers, urgent cares, intensive care units and critical access hospitals.

Working in academic centers, he teaches students and residents both in formal didactic sessions and bedside teaching. With his procedural and acute care expertise, Dr. Mati has extensive experience educating, lecturing and leading courses online and in person across the country.

Drawing on his diverse life and academic background, Dr. Mati articulates complex concepts and medical terms in an engaging and logical manner. He effectively and efficiently connects and communicates with patients, learners and audiences.
