Description
Double board-certified in both Addiction Medicine and Public Health & General Preventive Medicine; tenure track at CU School of Medicine with joint appointment in the Colorado School of Public Health. Master's degree in Epidemiology. After residency I worked as a medical pharmacoepidemiologist at the FDA for 3 years, specializing in the epidemiology of non-medical drug use — particularly opioids. My interests in drug safety and controlled substances led me to working in addiction medicine. I have served as the Assistant Medical Director for the opioid treatment program (I.e. methadone clinic) housed within the CU School of Medicine since 2020. I am the PI for a SAMHSA grant to provide addiction education to students in the MD, NP, and PA degree programs at CU. I am also the Program Director for the CU Preventive Medicine Residency where I serve on the GME Education Subcommittee. Expertise in communication to both medical and non-medical audiences; writing; interpersonal skills; public speaking. Compulsively inbox zero, I complete tasks promptly.
