Description
Corporations, organizations, academic institutions, and nonproï¬Ât agencies ask Mrs. Gwendolyn Miller to address racial issues such as diversity, equity, inclusion, racial microaggressions, and unconscious bias in her role as a consultant, expert witness, and co-author of Got Skillz? Recasting and Negotiating Racial Tension in Teacher-Student Relationships Amidst Shifting Demographics. Mrs. Gwendolyn Miller, the founder of Addressing Racial Microaggressions, LLC, provides expertise on the institutional and structural racism germane to marginalized groups by examining marginalized groups' experiences with and responses to racial injustice. Her mission is to arm individuals with the tools needed to design and execute effective diversity and inclusion strategies to establish a global diversity standard. Mrs. Miller also equips teams with successful best practices designed to reduce microaggressions and implicit bias in one's personal life, academic institutions, and the workplace and provides consulting and training to executives and professionals. She taught these strategies at The Institute for Diversity Certification (IDC) to prepare executives for the Certified Diversity Executive (CDE) exam and Certified Diversity Professional (CDP) exam. Mrs. Miller has presented workshops on the problem of systemic racism in educational institutions at numerous conferences, including the National Association for Multicultural Education, the Teachers' College Roundtable on Multicultural Psychology and Education, the National Conference on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in Higher Education, the American Psychological Association Convention, and the National Association of Independent Schools People of Color Conference. Mrs. Miller received her M.S.Ed from the University of Pennsylvania and later a certification in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University. She currently facilitates the "Leading Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion" online course at Northwestern University and "Women in Leadership: Overcoming obstacles to success" at the University of Toronto.
