Dr. Schumaecker is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Virginia Tech and has over 15 years of experience in clinical practice and teaching. An experienced public speaker, he is known for being able to explain complex medical concepts in a simple and highly articulate manner. He has won several teaching awards for this over his career.
He holds five board certifications including Cardiovascular Diseases, Clinical Informatics, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac Computed Tomography. He has served on committees for several professional societies including the American College of Cardiology and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
