TULANE NEUROLOGY
The Neurology section plays an integral role in the education of medical students and residents, and provides comprehensive care to children with all types of neurological disorders. All referrals are welcome, but specific conditions that especially warrant referral include: suspected/known seizures including epilepsy or other paroxysmal events, developmental delay including Autism, migraines or other headaches, abnormal movements such as tics, ADHD or other learning disabilities, sleep disorders, weakness or sensory abnormalities, and many others. Available treatment options include ketogenic diet in conjunction with Pediatric Gastroenterology, Vagal Nerve Simulator and Baclofen pumps in conjunction with Pediatric Neurosurgery, and inpatient Video EEG monitoring for evaluation for epilepsy surgery or to clarify etiology for paroxysmal events.
